Akranes is the solo project of producer & musician Liam Gaunt, formed with a few close friends in 2015, the cast of people involved slowly diminished. Still working closely with many of these friends on occasion, Akranes output is diverse and varied but still maintaining a distinctive sound throughout.

Emerging occasionally from the rural hideout, outings have seen performances in support of Ghostpoet, LUH, Laura Clock, Bernard & Edith & Aldous RH and release music through various labels, mainly Manchester based indie label Ramber Records & liquid drum and bass heavyweights Soulvent Records. Debut EP ‘Shadows’ garnered support from the likes of The Skinny & Now Then Manchester to name but a few with comparisons to artists like Nicolos Jarr & Portishead.

'Takeover Me' is the first in a series of releases planned for 2017, featuring the first few pieces of an ongoing live and studio collaboration with ex-DJ Vadim vocalist Sabira Jade as well as frequent collaborators Bryson and Ooni Staerck.
